What is M.R.S.C.A.?

The Maine Resident Service Coordinator Association (M.R.S.C.A.) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, professional membership organization of Resident Service Coordinators and others working in service-enhanced housing environments in Maine. A primary purpose of the organization is to promote the profession of Resident Service Coordination. Thus we provide training, educational and networking opportunities for RSC’s to meet the requirements of regulatory agencies and to increase their professional knowledge and skills.

Because their role as the “lynch pin” for residents needing and desiring services is so broad and requires an extensive knowledge of community, state and federal resources, ongoing education and training is a necessity. Although the national (AASC) and New England regional (NERSC) Resident Service Coordinator organizations offer annual training conferences, not all RSC’s are able to attend these. Since there are an array of state and local programs and resources not included in those larger conferences, in addition to developing specific training programs, MRSCA seeks to act as a clearinghouse through which it can inform its members of these other available training opportunities.

Another important role for MRSCA is providing and encouraging advocacy on behalf of the residents we serve or assisting them to advocate for themselves.
