Originally, the Maine Housing Managers Association started as an independent round table discussion group in 1980 to address relationship issues with the Regulatory Agencies and to represent Management interests. This group of dedicated individuals believed wholeheartedly in the concept of having “strength in numbers”. The group’s purpose evolved into providing education and training opportunities in Management. Their intent was to set professional standards and qualifications for the industry. They furthered their mission by advocating for policy changes, increases in management fees, and for professional respect. They were motivated by building collaborative relationships and improving the reputation of Property Managers.
